Laker Magic – Lakers beat Magic in 2009 NBA Finals for Championship

Lakers fans, your 2009 NBA World Champion Los Angeles Lakers!!!

While the Lakers didn’t get a chance to beat the evil rival Boston Celtics for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, this championship still tastes very sweet.  Orlando was never really a match for the Lake Show as Los Angeles beat them handily in the series 4-1.

Kobe Bryant was the Finals MVP (duh) and Los Angeles got key contributions from all of their role players, including starting small forward Trevor Ariza who was spectacular on both offense and defense.

Hopefully the Lakers have a great off-season as they prepare for yet another back-to-back run or maybe even a possible 3-peat. If that’s going to be the case, the first item on the agenda is clearly re-signing the Zen Master Phil Jackson for at least one more season.
